As I have mentioned before, I teach the 11-year old boys in Primary. I love my calling! Last week I was asked to speak at the "Priesthood Preview". That's where the boys and their parents come to learn more about receiving the Priesthood. I searched the internet, looking for ideas and there was nothing out there. (Turns out usually men speak at these events, and the fellas don't seem to spend as much time "idea sharing" as the sista's!) Needless to say, I don't have a husband to refer to and my dad's real far away.......so I turned to prayer. (Who knew!) I was asked to speak about "Power". As I prepared for the talk, it became more and more apparent to me that the Priesthood is the most powerful source of "power" in the world...and that my 11 year-olds were going to receive this power this year! WOW! I thought about their little hands and all of the good their hands will do in this life. It was humbling!
I decided to take a picture of each boys hands, blow it up and frame it for their wall......as a reminder of this "power" that they will hold in their hands. I spoke about the importance of having clean hands and using those hands to bless the lives of others throughout their lives. A friend asked me to send her a copy of what I did......so......here it is!

Amy, this is such an incredible idea. I love this...and I love knowing that you just changed the lives of these boys...honestly. I don't care that they are just 11...they will never forget this and you likely prepared them to be deacons better than any other boys have ever been prepared.
NICE WORK!!
Seriously - YOU ARE AMAZING!!! Some day I would love to crawl into your crazy/brilliant mind and see how it works! Luv u girl!!! See you in a few weeks! I am beyond excited!

Ms. Amy,
I have never posted on anyone's blog site...ever. I like to just watch, read and learn (snoop kinda : ) However, upon reading your true inspiration from your humble prayer and what the outcome was to tell these young boys, I was struck personally with how important our hands are as priesthood holders to keep clean and what that means (and I am almost 31 years old!!...Is it getting warm in here??) I will remember this when Ethan (5) and Isaac (1 month) both receive this sacred power someday. You are a remarkable person with many, many talents. Thank you for letting us all share in your life. Also, thank you personally (Sean and Dave too) for the blessings you bring to my family. You know what I am talking about! You are like wonder woman who instead of flies... drives a hummer! I am looking for the man worthy to sit co-pilot with you! Keep smiling. You are the COOLEST and it is an honor to be associated with you in any small way! Thanks for everything again, Amy!
