"Sister Hutch"

So.....this is my fourth Sunday teaching Primary. I have nine, eight and nine year olds and sometimes it can be a little difficult to capture and keep their attention! They LOVE to talk and giggle and pick their noses (well.....at least the boys do.) A couple of weeks ago I asked the class a question at the start of the lesson, "What is the Atonement?" Hands shot up......Yes, Maddie...."Um......like um, this one time, I like um.......saw a huge snake eat a rat......it was so gross!" Then sweet little Sister S followed up with, "Yea....um I saw it too....the grossest and weirdest part was that the snake was in a giant cheet-o's bottle....it was nasty!" .............OK, where do I go from there? Today I had one of my favorite little nine year olds in the world hand me an envelope. Her name is Amanda, and she has beautiful red, curly hair with the bluest blue eyes. Sweet Amanda has taught me more about simple, yet profound faith than I could ever teach her. She has a sweet, kind and very wise spirit trapped in the body of a nine year old. In all of her wisdom, she must have sensed my need to know if I was going to be able to survive as the Valiant 9 teacher!

I dont think the are called the Valiant B's anymore. I believe they have been officially changed to the Violent B's. Seems crazy I know. I hope the Diet Coke free zone is going great!
