LOVE IS IN THE AIR.................

LOVE IS IN THE AIR……. So, as many of you may know, my youngest brother Johnny lives in Virginia…not necessarily the part John Denver wrote about in one of his songs…just Virginia. It seems like he’s been gone forever! When I used to travel to the east coast a couple of times a month on business…I’d get the chance to see him. It was always good times! We (his family and friends) miss him so much and always hope and pray that he is healthy and happy and finding the true joys of life! I thought that I would Blog about Johnny.some really cool things are happening in his life right now. ….The following article was written in The Examiner on the 19th. (Hutchins family members……I’ll save you some time and the possibility of missing it all together with you “Speed Reading”……Just read the last two paragraphs!) Boyd Pfeiffer: Maryland tournament ends with enthusiasm Printer Friendly PDF Email digg C. But even with odds at 1:65 — far better than the Maryland Lottery — he could not parlay that into the BIG prize. Andersen, whose No. 1 came up first on the spinning wheel of chance, still walked away with some great consolation prizes: a 162-quart ice cooler filled with prizes, gift certificates and shopping sprees at Boater’s World and Zachary’s Jewelers — a total value of about $4,000. “This contest is the people’s contest,” said Marty Gary, Department of Natural Resources biologist and spokesperson for the summer-long tournament. The tournament allowed anglers fishing every part of Maryland to catch 10 different species of tagged fish, including striper bass, croaker, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, white perch, crappie, sunfish, walleye, trout and catfish. More than 1,500 tagged fish were released by the DNR with 139 anglers from seven states landing 146 fish. Five randomly chosen anglers qualified for the grand prizes that included two Toyota Tacoma pickup trucks, a center-console Sailfish and trailer from Boater’s World, a Tracker Nitro bass boat and trailer from Bass Pro Shops, and yes, that chance for a million bucks. Gary was followed at the lectern by former Sunpapers and now Annapolis Capital outdoor writer Bill Burton, sports personality Keith Mills, DNR secretary Ron Franks, former Orioles first baseman Boog Powell, and yes, even Governor Robert L. Ehrlich. The introductions were mixed in with raffles for prizes. The serious festivities involved a carnival-type wheel of chance with numbers of all 139 qualifying anglers on the board for a chance at a raffle or grand prize. Once five names were called, each picked one of five identical tackle boxes. These were opened to reveal a dollar bill (that chance to win a million bucks) or keys for a Toyota or fishing boat. One contestant, John Hutchins of Broad Run, Va., could not attend, sending his girlfriend, (Amy writes….who will remain nameless) She — or he, or they — ended up with the 18-foot, 7-inch Tracker Nitro bass boat and trailer from Bass Pro Shops. Hutchins would probably have enjoyed attending and winning himself, but he couldn’t. He was in a fishing tournament. Figures. C. Boyd Pfeiffer is an internationally known sportsman and award-winning writer on fishing, hunting, and the outdoors, and he has more than 20 books to his credit. He can be reached at cbpfeiffer@msn.com. More inportant than any fish Johnny could ever hook and then eventually land….would be to catch an amazing woman that would share his passion and zest for life. I think the two pictures below will tell the story better than I could folks.....he may have hooked the "real deal" this time! (As with most of my pictures of people who I am not sure want to be shared on the internet…..I have blocked out her eyes to protect her anonymity. I am also not mentioning her name…..but I will say this……It rhymes Shmamy (Sha-may-mee).
