Line upon line!

Today was a really good day! One of my best friends from California, Kim Jensen was in town. She had tickets to the afternoon session of General Conference. Before she came out she called and said, "I only have tickets to the afternoon, Saturday session.....should we get more?" Kim has never been to a live session of General Conference with me (or anyone for that matter)...but if she had gone with me.....she would know that I don't do so well when I attend in the Conference Center....there are way too many people for me to look at and to distract me. At home, when I watch (and I do watch....I love General Conference) the only thing to distract me is deciding whether I have enough time to take a shower during the intermission hymn, the sound of my microwave popping popcorn and phone calls from friends calling to tell me (during one of the "Sister talks") that I have forever ruined General Conference for them ...because the only thing they can only think of, while that sweet sister is speaking is ....."Two trailer park girls go round the outside” or "Last month, while touring with the brethren in the Philippians, I met a young man by the name of Insanglou." So the talks today were great! The feeling in the Conference Center was amazing........but once again....I found myself sitting too close to the candidates for the "2006 most annoying person/people/couple of the year award"! Meek "Couple A", Ammon, a scorpio from Rigby-Idaho and Sariah, a Leo from Beaver, Utah (not their real names) found themselves hungry and decided to break out a Pop-Tart....right there in the middle of (....forgot his name...handsome man from the Idaho Falls (shout out to Sargie!)) talk. Pop-tart rappers make a lot of noise.....and these were adults.....both of them eating! WHAT? Were you born in a barn? You don't eat during church. (Unless you’re the elderly gal in my ward who brings a little bottle of warm milk to get her through Sunday School...blasted heart burn!). I couldn't believe it!! "Couple B", Peter & Molly (again, names have been changed) were clearly newly weds. At one point Peter....who was apparently real, real tired (but no longer hungry because Molly had gold fish in a little zip lock baggie she'd feed him whenever he looked weak.....decided to rest his head right above her "pillows"...... HOW OLD ARE YOU KIDS? My feeling....if you are old enough to be doing the Icky Shuffle......you are old enough to sit up tall during General Conference! And for the love Molly........Peter is not a dolphin.....he doesn't need a fishy every time he does a little trick! So....for the record......after just reading what I wrote....I have decided to go back and read the talk on Charity....given in the earlier session......something about how charity-the pure love of Christ.....is tied directly to patience! Which clearly......I need more of!

I am laughing so hard. Now that was funny.I thoroughly enjoyed reading that BLOG. Hey, you forgot to mention that after conference you and your friend kim came over to my house and starting cleaning and decorating for Spencers 18th birthday party. Then... you went to the store for me, then... came back and helped some more around the house while Kim was holding my baby while I was working and then he spit-up all over her beautiful white blouse. Then... you took my 3 children home with you to spend the night so I could have the party and not have to worry about them. Then... you wrote your BLOG and forgot to put that you are sister of the year (for many reasons like this not just for today)and I think my children would surely say, "Aunt of the year." (sorry Lisa, we still love you tons!!)

Well Ame, I was in tears over your blog, ... I haven't laughted so hard in a long time.

Unfortunately, before I posted, I read Holly's comments and now I'm in tears again but no longer laughing! Just kidding, it's okay if you're "Aunt of the Year", I've been out of the running for at least 10 years now.

I love you!
